How do you pronounce the name M:LYS and how did you get that name for your band?
A. It is pronounced "Meleese". I named the band Mielyssia
(Miel-lys-sia) after I had a dream with that spelling and then it turned out to be a really difficult name to say." Meel-Liss-Sia". My fans said that they could not remember how to spell the name. I started thinking of names that were similar and not totally different. I was typing in Mylys when the computer glitch typed M:LYS. The Semi Colon made it strange and memorable and it was a nickname that did not alter the original name. So I used it and was very happy with the new name for the band. Mielyssia is still the vocalist name with the nickname "Melise". (Artist name changed in 2015).
Do you have a boyfriend or are you married?
A. Yes I am happily married and have a son who I love very much.
Do you have a nickname?
A. You can call me Mie Mie, Melise, Miela or Lys(Leese).
How do you pronounce the name Mielyssia and what does it mean?
A. Miel- Lis-Sia. Miel means Honey.
How old are you?
A. I am older than you think... but a woman does not tell her age.
Are you or were you in the Military? Your songs reflect that sometimes and I want to know.
A. Yes. It annoys me that no one remembers that, lol.
Do you have a band or are you solo?
A. I am solo but I have guest appearances for the bass and
other instruments in some songs. I am creating a new band soon with my husband who is awesome at Bass and Drums.

What have you been up to lately?
A. I have been real busy studying for college and I am working towards a Bachelor degree in Health Administration. Right now I am happy because I got amazing new stuff for drum samples and I am working on the latest album "Notice". I want it out by August 2015! I often do my music on the weekends or when I am free.
Do you work with other bands or Artists?
A. Yes I do. I already did some vocals for a new Electronic Dance Music Artist and I am excited to hear the song soon! My EDM Vocalist name aside from my music band name is "Melise". That's why I have the names Mielyssia, Melise, and M:LYS all listed here. I am one and the same vocalist and artist.
Do you sell your Vocals in Sample Packs?
A. No.
What is your music direction now? It changes a lot.
A. I write the songs the way I hear them in my mind and I know that this defies specific genres sometimes. I like to stick with Techno Industrial music but I think my music sounds like "Industrial Pop" at times and "Gothic Electro Pop" or "Synth Pop". Everyone agrees it is Techno or Electronic and so I am writing songs that change with the mood. I channel music and the songs just come to me so I have to go with that no matter what.
Any new keyboards or equipment you are happy about?
A. Yes! I got some new Plug In's that are amazing and I updated my wonderful music software! It makes my drums really loud and have the club sound I lusted after! Finally got it. Also got great samplers and new synths so I am making my newer tracks way better when it comes to loudness and mixing! Can't wait to finish my songs and you will hear the difference!
What do you use PC or Mac? What do you make music with?
I hate to talk gear talk with people who are not using the same equipment because they tend to fight over software like Logic Pro, Reason, Cubase, Ableton, and all the others. I do want Ableton.
I happily use FL Studio Producer Edition 12, Reason, a group of Plug In's from Native Instruments, Drums from various Plug In's and Midi such as my Mini Korg, Yamaha Keyboard, and Analog Korg Keyboard. I also use Sony Headphones and Sony Microphones (I have Condenser and Dynamic) ...All on PC.
What is your religion and why do you talk about dreams a lot?
A. My religious views are eclectic. I believe I am a Mystic. I take from different religions and so I am a believer in Angels and Spiritualism. I often wonder if I was not Rosicrucian in a past life because I had images come to me from that religion and feel an affinity for it. I know about the occult and I pray to God a lot. So...I am like a mix of a lot of religions because I believe in the higher power and studied many religions. People don't realize it but the fight over religion is not wise because it is often the same source (just different cultures and countries naming dieties in their belief system). I am naturally gifted at dream interpretations. I had a dream of naming the band Mielyssia (spelled this way) because it is similar to my name and they both mean Honey. It has proven to be a very original name. I follow my dreams a lot because they lead me to do things that are good for me and I get most of my inspiration from channeling others and from my dreams.
What is your Affinity in Cultures with Music?
A. I love Belly Dancing (Turkish and Arabic Music). I love Native American Indian Music. I like Indian Music like Bollywood. I like Reggaetone, Some Hip Hop and Rap Music, Pop Music, Celtic Music, Meditation Music, UK Music, Progressive, House and Trance, Electronic Dance Music, Sometimes Country Music, and mostly I enjoy Gothic and Industrial Music.
Are you a DJ? I read that you are a DJ now too?
A. I totally forgot to mention it! I have Virtual DJ Pro and I do shows on Tuesday Nights and Spin....that's right....Gothic and Industrial Music and also Dark Electronic Music.
